On july 4, where a community once lived, I paced for hours tracing some words into the ground. I hoped for reflection and mourning within my self and the process. But how hot the sun was hitting. I was just hoping I wouldn't get overheated and have to stop looking for where to step next. Smothering the same grass over and over to keep it down and write the words "DOT KILLED THEM"
I know I'm not alone in how I feel when i pass or walk through that field that used to hold the lives of trees, flowers, vegetables, scavengers, human beings, my friends.
RIP Darrell, Tex, and Toby
